Timex currently offer a range of different heart rate monitors, using various transmission systems to wirelessly transmit the heart rate data from the chest strap sensor to the watch continuously displaying the heart rate. The functions and features of the watch, in addition to the heart rate feature include time of day and date, chronograph (stopwatch) usually with a lap/split memory recall, repeat and interval timers, daily alarms.

Digital Transmission Models - based on digital packet transmission from these products avoid the problems of crosstalk and electromagnetic interference. Hence the watch will display heart rate even when being used on a treadmill but the chest transmitter heart rate sensor signal cannot be picked up by the treadmills own display consul.
